This project is precisely located in Leawood , Kansas , which are a typical mid-ring suburb area characterized by the modest, a well-built home, a leafy hardwood tree canopy and a good public school which make it as an attractive location for the young families. The current trends, in an economic crisis situation, lean toward tearing the down existing home. The home itself arguably as an historical building, with the most of homes in this part of Leawood have been built in the early 1940s. Then to allowable the build lines and the volume, the new design is maximized.
In the project program, the architect is faced by the issue, a challenge which is come from the Tyler. By the client, the architect is ordered to add a playroom, a bedroom and the storage to their existing home without modifying the volume and the footprint. Inside this house are identified two locations where the space can be better utilized-unused space above the garage and a small, north end attic adjacent to an existing children’s bedroom. The local architectural review board regulation is required to maintaining the overall form and character of the existing house, how ironic. The regulation becomes a useful cons trait in developing a complimentary contemporary aesthetic of the expansive glazing and subtle detailing. It is the more important thing.
The interior design of this house is so beautiful. The atmosphere of the nature is comes from the wooden wall which is installed inside the house. The architect is challenge by the client order to add a playground area. Then the architect idea is achieve this order with the painting decoration of this playground area is dominantly in a bright color, in this case the architect use the combination between blue and white color. Inside to the playground area is found the circular window. Another window of this playground area is stand out to the roof. This roof window is not just used for the air circulation or the house ventilation, but it also gives the bright of light which comes from the nature. Nice!
