Alvar Aalto developed the chairs No. 42 for the same hospital in Finland. Aalto is considered the pioneer of the layer of wood. Influenced by the German Bauhaus he experimented since 1927 with this material and created together with his wife Aino Aalto numerous drafts.
The development was the emphasis that the layer of wood chair on the basis of the material softer and more friendly for the patients should be seen as a steel tube. Until 1933 he worked at the clinic, which also stands out for its fascinating architecture and confident as one of its architectural masterpieces counts. The Chair No. 41 consists of a skid-type frame with a feather in the plywood seat.
