The new headquarters is to Simed Health Care Group, designed by DHV Architects, received the Audience Award from Rietveldprijs 2009. This building provides a new and dynamic work environment for employees, and capable of storing medical equipment.
This award winning office design is divided into two parts, office and business space. Designed as a strong uniform space, the building responds to the existing hospital adjacent and Midden Weteringand.
Exterior material is durable and maintenance free, natural stone, aluminum, glass and metal expanded to give the appearance of a solid and stylish. Praising this is wood and polycarbonate facade gives the appearance of a soft and warm and friendly.
The architect felt it was important to not only create another office / industrial buildings. Instead they want a sensitive design approach to the relationship between new buildings with the surrounding environment. They want to avoid designing just a decorated shed a very open building. Their concern is to creatively combine a high quality interior space with the importance of the sensitivity of the exterior, all in the client’s budget.
