Court twin buildings architecture design by Dominique Perrault
Many kind of impressive building designs in the world which is catch our eye. Like this one which called the Court of Justice of the European Communities. Today I would like to review about a modern building architecture design. Well, see below for more information!
This building architecture design which called the Court of Justice of the European Communities was completed designed by the Dominique Perrault Architecture. This tower building is located in Kirchberg platform, Grand Duche du Luxembourg. For this building, the site is comprises for about 76, 000 square meters, while the built area is for about 100, 000 square meters. It was a 2008 year project building.
The architect’s challenge is not only to increase the space, but also to give the harmony to a building which had already been extended three times. The increasing space is a new extension and to triple Court’s capacity from 50, 000 square meters to 150, 000 square meters. As for additional information, first inaugurated in 1973, when the European Community included only six member countries, the Court of Justice was extended in 1988, 1993 and 1994. As Perrault saw it, the scheme’s challenge was threefold: functional, urban and institutional.
The architect’s brief said that; first this court building required an additional 100, 000 square meters to the house more than 2, 000 judges, clerks and translators, the second, the successive expansion with sometimes contradictory designs needed to be rationalized and brought together to function as a whole. It was therefore not only necessary to create extra space but to unify the whole, and it is creating a building which would seem more like a harmonious “injection” than a fourth extension. Third, Perrault’s scheme sought to reinforce the symbolic importance of the prestigious institution.
The original building is made of corten steel. This building is hollowed out; it is intended to accommodate the courtrooms which are encircled by a perfectly orthogonal ring hosting offices, chambers for the judges, advocate generals, and the Great Hall of justice.
Well guys, this is a large building design. Ok guys, I hope this little information is enough for you. Have a nice day!
