Carapicuiba House Bridge Architecture Design
A great house architecture design is completed designed by the Brazilian architect Angelo Bucci and Alvaro Puntoni. This house is designed in Carapicuíba, Brazil. The site where this living space is located is its depression in the topographical terms. It is cannot clearly see its ground level because the ground surface falls abruptly into a little valley and woods from the street: a stage 6 meters below. That’s the geographic conditions of the living space. The living space program is joins two different purposes: a house and an office. It is a place to both live and the work. It is as separate as possible although these two functions share the same space.
The living space site is utilized offering the different levels. It is to arrange the two main programs. While the house street level is kept free of any enclosed space, it is a kind of “pilotis” with the two different areas: the first place is in the ground which is very close to the street, the other one is aerial, as a roof terrace which over the building. The two areas are connected by a bridge which is made from steel. The bridge with its steel grid floor which is leads over the open space is the only entrance to the building. The open space is downstairs to the house or upstairs to the office. By the architect, this living space is divided into two levels, both below the street level. The woods, valley, gardens and the pool are integrated its spaces, it is located at the ground level. The living space design is incorporates the outside nature indoors: a sliding glass door which is opens the living room into the terrace. It is creating one a large space. At the lower level, the bedroom and the patios can also be integrated. The office is located upstairs from the street level. It has the dimensions 3 meters wide and 25 meters long, it is making it look like a tube which is opens at both extremities. But therefore, the windows are offering the new views: more landscape than the patios and more panoramic than an intimate space.
The “tube” itself is only the rest over the two columns. The whole building is supported by the reinforced concrete. Beside the living space materials, concrete and glass, this living space is essentially designed based on the site’s geography and landscape. During its construction process, so few elements mean more concentration on the required work. It is made it easier to control the budget and it help the architect focus on the necessary steps to build the house.
