Contemporary Home Design Review
The new living space which is designed by the architect is a non-building, it is thereby leaving the original farmhouse and the barn intact and it is entirely separate from the living space.
A house framework is provided by the careful view-framing and the spatial sequencing which one can experience the landscape and the agricultural history. With a modest presence from the road, this new living space is located at the end of a long lane. The appearance of two separate occupancies as viewed from the road and the quiet approach to the living space is ensure that the property’s pastoral presence is preserved is established by this distance.
The contemporary living space’s various elements structure one’s perception of the place, its relationship to the original site. Alongside the living space to a pond within the landscape, a watercourse is runs; it is inviting the sounds of running the water into the interior. A walking path of the new living space along the edge of the extended watercourse is continues towards the barn, it is visually and physically linking the new residence to the historic settlement.
This contemporary house architecture design is focuses the views into the meadow rather than onto it, it is nestled within the ground. Each element inside this living space, old and new, is retains its character and its integrity, while establishing a collective sense of place.
