Contemporary Home Design Living Room Interior
Contemporary home design which called the Naramata Residence is completed designed by the Frits de Vries Architect. This Naramata Residence is located in Kelly Valley, Canada. This living space site is poised directly between the expansive horizons which are offered by Lake Okanagan.
Poised directly between the expansive horizon offered by the Lake Okanagan and the rugged mountains cape of the Kelly Valley, this living space site for this residence can be said to be in a transition zone. In this site, the surrounding land is arid and it is filled with earthy undertones and worn rolling rocks capes, true to the Okanagan landscape. Brilliant greens line the shore of the lake in the direct contrast to the arid mountains beyond, the lake itself is almost like a vision of the heaven amid this desert-like surrounding.
Inside this living space, the large covered decks, extensive sliding windows, open flexible pan and the wood sliders, both of the interior and the exterior are allows the owner to frame, touch and breathe in the natural surroundings. The living space is acts as a transition point between the Lake and the mountains from an architectural point of view.
Besides the stonework which is local from Kelly Quarry, the surrounding landscape of this residence is inspires the color scheme of the exterior of the residence itself. The generous entertaining and the family play areas are allowed by the large open plan which is found in the main floor. Essentially, this residence is the place for the inhabitants to bring the natural elements into a more human scale. Quitter and more intimate areas face the mountainside; it is where a small grassy enclosed garden stills the breeze and view.
Contemporary Home Design Concept
The simplicity of the residence’s design, economically, helps maintain a low overall construction cost and this thing has allowed the residence’s owner to allocate more money on the quality detailing and finishing the materials such the large expansive window, extensive use of rich natural woods, natural stone and the custom millwork.
In addition, to help save on costs, in example steel stairs and the louver systems, the owner has manufactured all the steel components of the living space himself. For reduces the energy consumption inside this residence, the solar ban 60 windows and a louver system for all window is installed.
Especially along the western exposure, generous overhangs, reduces rain exposure, it is controls the solar gain and minimizes potential leakage and reduce maintenance. An in-floor heating system has been set-up in the house for future use of the Lake. The open plan allows for extensive natural cross ventilation throughout the house and requires very little cooling in the summer.
