Contemporary Office Design Photos
Contemporary office design called Cargo is completed designed by the architect group8. This contemporary office is located in 37, chemin Philibert-de-Sauvage,1219 Châtelaine, Geneva, Switzerland. Covers areas for about 780 square meters, this office interior was progressed in 2010.
On May 20 2010, the architect as an interior designer has settled down in its new workspace. Near the center of Geneva which is located in Switzerland, a former industrial hall hosts these new offices which are designed in order to make the best use of the 780 square meters and the 9 meters of height.
Inside this contemporary office, this white and luminous space is contains a hidden treasure: it is 16 recycled shipping containers. All of these containers have been traveling across the world for thousands of kilometers over are the ocean of the globe. These containers are preserved “as found” without any outside cosmetic transformation, piled up as a giant Legos.
While making good use of the height within the space, realistically, the use of these containers represents a gain of about 200 square meters. This aesthetic keeps the poetry of their former use and differentiates them from the immateriality of the big neutral space which they lie in.
These monumental objects, shipping containers, is acquired a new function by following Marcel Duchamp’s idea of “ready made”. This is turns them into the contemporary living and working spaces, the modern objects and the industrial space both recover a functional use. Each of the containers is embodies a collective shape or a situation of their work: meeting room, cafeteria, lunge zone, bathrooms and shower, etc. These containers formalize structural collective spaces.

With the container’s structured zone, the other half of the scheme is in opposition: an open space is enlightened by the natural light which is traveling through the glass-roof. Which is generates a strong synergy of work; this informal working space gathers all the employees together.
By the container’s privacy, which is radically differentiated, the second zone is composed of the informal meeting spaces. The white open space is gives shape to a neutral environment, it s necessary to a creative work.
Like a small city inside the city, the white furniture gives a spatial rhythm through its developed skyline. The non-repetition of patterns in the furniture design gives birth to a kind of miniature landscape, far away from habitual rigid office environments.
