Houston Pavilion Design Architecture
Maybe when we see a pavilion design, it still seems like usual and just a regular one. But in this time I will review about a contemporary pavilion design which called the Houston Pavilion, and to be sure, you will be impressed and attracted by the design. This is also a romantic place for take a date here. Fee curious yet, then give it a break!
Lately I have gathered information about contemporary pavilion design which called the Houston Pavilion. This contemporary pavilion was completed designed by the Morris Architects. The architect designed this pavilion intended for the 8th China International Garden Expo in Chongqing, China. This is which showcase for a variety of the landscape typologies throughout China and the world.
The theme, “Better Garden, Better City”, promotes harmony between landscaped and built spaces. The City of Houston is one of thirty-two international cities invited to participate in the Expo. Morris Architects partnered with SWA Group to design the Houston Pavilion. More images and architects’ description after the break.
An embossed concrete wall which refers to the long Chinese tradition of walled gardens is bound The Houston Pavilion; the wall is inflicted to allow the entry and to retain an earthen hill which is intended to reference the topography of a Houston bayou. Guided by a water course which winds between the perimeter wall and the hillside, the visitors move along the path. The path is further defined by a trellised canopy to provide shade and to refer to the natural tree canopy of a typical bayou landscape. The trellised canopy is made of plasma-cut plate steel, welded and painted white, covered by a perforated steel layer that will produce intricate patterns of shadows along the path.
An orthogonal stone “bayou” guides visitors through the space, anchored by large steel cisterns that serve as the source and basin. The basin is flanked by limestone walks and steps, and surrounded by a tall grass and meadow flower prairie. At the top of the hill, visitors will exit down a stair attached to the bounding wall and return to the original grade.
Well, how’s about the pavilion design, this is great isn’t? To be honest I want to take one of my girlfriends here to take a date. Ok guys I think it’s up, have a nice day then!
