To live in a country house and acquire a bolt-hole in the city is the dream of many. The city apartment can be quite different from the country property, is probably much smaller, and perhaps decorated more whimsically or with colours not tried before. Bought as a wreck by a young interior designer for her own use several days a week, this smart one-bedroom flat overlooking the Chelsea Physic Garden in central London fits the bill in all ways. It has a view, plenty of light, good storage and feels much bigger than it really is.

The entire space had to be gutted, the rooms turned back to front, and the floors raised to allow new plumbing to a luxurious new bathroom. Good design has been employed to maximize the scale of each room. It is no good having high ceilings and large windows if the rooms are divided into spaces that are too small, and the temptation to squeeze in a second bedroom should be abandoned in favor of fewer and better areas for living.

These chairs all are so unique. If you like these you should check out this amazing contemporary chair! I purchased it for working at the computer in my living room. I didn’t want something that looked like a generic office chair – and it sure does look unique! But on top of that, I’ve been able to work at the computer for hours without the back pain I’d become resigned to.
