The Zephyros Project which based in Pomos, Cyprus is constructed by Koutsoftides Architects. This project was constructed in 2009 and it was covers an areas for about 351 square meters. In the first project, the strategy is keep in mind the word which is comes from the great architect Renzo Piano. He said that the shadow of the project is captured in the landscape, so it must be the first hearken. The team of the architect is trying to extrude the elements. Form the elements itself will contribute and reflect the thought of the building project and its landscape to become a unity; to receive at any time within the day and the night, regardless the regional season of the glorious sun, the Zephyros, the magestic blue sea and the mysterious silver moon in August. Those remembering when we were just a kids who going to camping and enjoying the nature atmosphere, so the client can embrace all the elements under one permanent camping tent!
The client of this project is decide to leave the great city, London, and they are comes to the residence in Cyprus . From the project itself, its initially designed by the architect as a holiday house, and despite in the fact which the originally building is meant to be for a holiday house, then the client decide to have a permanent holidays! What a life! By inserting in the center of a generous patio and a pool, the main floor of this house is divided into two spaces by the designer. Due to the weather conditions, by living in Cyprus is basically living in the outside area. For of this, the architect decided to emphasize it by creating a patio with the multiple faces. The sliding roofs is retracts to expose the sky, whilst the wooden screens , when it opened and it is invites the surrounding nature to the part of the house.
This house project location is faces in the north. It faces the small fishing harbor of Pomos. Its being the main point to the architect in builds the living space project. The shooting feeling of the calmness is created by the location and the orientation of the property itself, whilst the proximity of the cliff and the surrounding fields with lemons, orange and pin tress which are adds a blend of smells and it’s mixed with the thyme and the other aromatic wild plants. By living in this living space, it is being exposed to the elements whilst being protected, like going to camping and enjoying every moment of the day and the night. Great living space architecture design!
