Blair residence is hill open concept house design, it’s have many open big glass windows that has direct view to the entire hill surround the house. The Laidley house located at San Fransisco infill lot, this house is a single family residence that have more than 3000 square feet wide. This house designed by their owners, Jim Zack and Lise de Vito, they now live with their two children in this house. This modern contemporary house designed by their company, Zack / de Vito Architecture. Lisa as the lead designer and the construction completion helped by their companion, BuiltForm Construction.

Old Bernal is one of the oldest home in Sans Fransisco neighborhood, this old cottage build on 1860 and never been repaired for years. Feldman Architecture been requested to repair and redesign this house, the point is to expand, modernize the small dark house of original building and maintaining the rustic charm. Feldman give contemporary design to this house that contain bedroom suite, two studies room and ten foot wide wing garage. They clear up the roof and upper floor of this contemporary house design to illuminates the stone wall and kitchen. There’s interesting two story high bookshelves that connect first floor and stuides room.

The other element that make the contemporary concept of this house include exposed ceiling joists, thin metal handrails and cantilevered contemporary wood stair treads. The mixing of wood and stone with the clean glass make a new life into this old contemporary home re-design.

BDA Architects have designed this home on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Residence by BDA Architecture

The house is a modest, single family beach house designed to replace an existing dwelling on the site which the client had owned for a number of years. The primary design idea was to embrace a two storey covered outdoor living space connecting the house and garden and overlooking the Broadwater.

The resulting design satisfies the clients brief which included the following main elements:
- An elevated living area opening into the garden with views to the Broadwater
- A guest bedroom, bathroom, main entry and laundry on the main level
- A master suite, sitting area, office and separate bedroom on the upper level all with water views
- Car parking and storage below ground

The compact built form continues the two storey urban fabric characteristic of this part of Main Beach, along both street frontages, celebrating the street corner with a recessed double height, outdoor living space. Elevating the house 1.5m above the street optimises the view over parkland towards the water. This device has allowed both street frontages to be extensively landscaped using a ha ha combined with a lower than normal height street wall which affords privacy and views for the occupants while enhancing the public amenity of the streetscape.

Designed to take full advantage of prevailing summer breezes, this house contains a number of passive ESD initiatives. It possesses opening windows on all sides giving good natural ventilation. Northern and western elevations, which are extensively glazed, are shaded by operable louvred screens reducing solar gain in summer and allowing the sun to penetrate the interior during winter. More solid walls to the south exclude the cooler winter winds. Walls, floors and roofs are generally light coloured to reflect heat. A large subterranean water tank collects water for reuse on site and environmentally friendly finishes have been utilised throughout.

Materials comprise painted, rendered concrete masonry for external walls generally. Some areas of timber frame walls are clad in fibre cement sheet with aluminium cover battens recalling the beachside vernacular of Main Beach. The roof is steel framed and lined. Window frames and shutters are anodised aluminium. Flooring is generally white terrazzo with some areas of natural timber boarding.

Villa O is a contemporary rental home located in Cap Ferrat in southeastern France.

Villa O in Cap Ferrat:

Palms and pines line the winding route down into St Jean. Pass the pretty bars and restaurants, the beret clad artists, Jean Cocteau street sculpture, the port filled with sleek yachts and families on the sandy beach. The chauffeur turns up the private road to Villa O. And there it is – tiers of terraces, shields of glass, a tricolor of white walls, cobalt sky and pine green trees.

The light and space are overwhelming. A champagne cork pops and canapés are served on the vast semi circular balcony. Below, a whirl of activity sees your cases brought inside to be carefully unpacked. The villa is beautifully set up to make you feel totally relaxed and totally at home.

There are over 4,500 square meters of gardens. Lavender lined pathways provide panoramic views over the peninsula. A cornucopia of flowers bursts through rockery walls. Olive, Cyprus and eucalyptus trees give shape and shade; jasmine, rosemary and jacaranda perfume the entire estate. Soft, manicured lawns undulate to an aquamarine pool. A wooden footbridge leads to our two bedroom, magic garden, Tent house Suite.

A Balinese style pool house provides shade in which to read, dine or snooze away a hot summer afternoon. Step into the infinity pool that curves around the garden. Cocktail in hand, gaze out over the bay filled with yachts. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served in your suite, on the terrace, in the dining room, on the lawn or by the pool (either pool of course). Dinner at 8 or a midnight feast with lanterns. Attention to detail is phenomenal because that’s how we like it.
