Today in this perfect opportunity I would like to try review about a modern home design. This is a simple home design which has a modern accent. In the great city, a building has to stand based on the council. Maximizing the site, yes it is a must. The how the architects realize it? Well, see below guys!

This home design is called the Potxonea House. It was completed designed by the OS3 arkitektura. This home is located in Usurbil, Spain. The architect’s client is City of Ursubil (Gipuzkoa).

The home program is head of the City Department of Culture; offices for municipality workers and meeting point for various cultural groups in the municipality: workrooms. His home design was precisely located on Izaru Street 4, in Ursubil, and is the last of a set of the buildings which is makes up the historical city-center, and so it is a building with a remarkable background.

The architect made a linear addition of buildings, it is separates two large public spaces; Dema plaza, it is the main plaza of Ursubil, and Askatasuma Plaza which is recently built. Which is materializing the two opposing fronts, the hierarchy of the two plazas is reflected in the composition of the building complex. The front facing Dema Plaza is composed of facades of load-bearing walls, small-sized openings, and finishing in ashlars stone noble; the front facing Askatasuna Plaza shows a more modest facade of wooden frames and larger openings.

The two permeable zones with the low-growing plant life are connecting both plazas, but the dialogue between the buildings and the plazas differ significantly. Virtually all main entrances and the best finishing are concentred on the side facing Dema plaza, leaving Askatasuna plaza in the background. The Potxoenea building was the last on Irazu, before the Church, and was separated from the adjacent building by a narrow, fenced alleyway (1.7 m wide) in disrepair.

Although previously used for residential use, this home building was owned by the Municipality. It had been empty for years and was in poor structural condition. The Special Plan for the Preservation of the Urban Core required the preservation of the facade facing Dema plaza as well as determined the basic parameters of the rehabilitative intervention.
