Home Renovation Architecture Design
Home renovation is completed renovated by the architect Rajiv Saini & Associates. They designed a remodel of a house of an existing family home in Hyderabad, India. The architect’s client almost gave the architect a carte blanche when the architect is approached by his client for about four years back for this house project. For this project, the architect’s client wants a completely contemporary look for their new renovation house.
Based on the client order, the architect is asked for designed a completely contemporary look living space, which is the previous house building is an old house built by the previous generation with Victoria column embellishments and a grand circular marble spiral staircase.
The architect want to challenge them self to use the existing materials instead of starting off with a new design. They just have two months for designing the new house with those challenges. What they followed is an intense period of ‘editing’-additions and deletions which are eventually make up this 12,500 square feet home.
Home Renovation Interior Design
Over the existing structure of this home renovation, the additional rooms got cantilevered, for example the copper clad gym which is overlooking the front garden is a newly added cantilevered steel structure, as are the guest rooms and the steel and glass study attached to the master suite. The rebundant spaces inside this home renovation got demolished to create new spaces wherever possible. The new dining room of this home renovation is created by enclosing a part of the rear garden, the grand spiral marble staircase fell a victim to the reorganizing. It is replaced instead by a sleek metal and a stone one in a different part of the house. As a result of this home renovation, the 10’ diameter hole left in the sloping slab got transformed into a skylight and the roof got sheeted in a layer of the black slate.
The architect’s client have expressed their preferred palette of the materials at the onset- it is adding to that further, the architect worked with a range of the materials such as a grey granite, silver-grey travertine, white marble, blonde woods, steel and a glass, it is to create a bespoke house which is imparted a ‘fresh’ and a ‘cool’ feel, it is because the region has a hot dry climate. With the addition of a new pool and a pavilion with it, the large garden too underwent a complete makeover.
As the designer, the architect greatest reward is when the architect client on returning from a long holiday to NY exclaimed which is no fancy hotel anywhere in the world which now gives her as much as enjoyment as the comfort of her own home renovation!
