A modern living space design is finished designed by the architect João Laranja Queirós. This modern living space which located in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal is covers an area for about 319 square meters. The architect concerns began to explore an architectural object which obeys the limits of lot 14 x 7 meters when confronted with the opportunity to do this project.

The architect program required them to be exploited and architectural issues which we consider to be fundamental in the architecture. whether symmetrical or balanced, from the simple forms to more complex, the composition of a good way seems to be inherent in a set of geometric structures, in which the parts and the whole work as one. The interpretation of the world through the recognition of the abstract geometric structures, it was like in the past in present, an object of study and understanding of their own kind of the beauty in the world.

The architect sought to develop an object which itself would have a geometry so strong and so unified which any construction which would unite this in the future (lot 12), would never lose the power to be single architectural object (1) leaning against a foreign element, the other (1), it is by accepting these assumption as “light motif” to the architect establishment. The architect accept which the square, pure form, could serve as a basis for the composition of plants and the elevations in developing this research and for reasons which had to do with the design of the lot, which resulted in hierarchy of the spaces and the voids, which greatly expand in the different dimensions. In addition, the architect are also interested in the issue of “mass” as dimensional element generators of the space, in example the search for a volume  which could be excavated depths which resulting in the second play of the light and the shadow.
