Interior Design Lofts Review
ixdesign an interior designer group has completed renovated an interior design of a loft which located in apartment called the 130 Barrow Street Apartment which located in New York City’s West Village. The interior designer, ixdesign, is commissioned to bring organized function and a warm sensibility to a 1,050 square foot loft-style apartment.
This apartment which called the 130 Barrow Street Loft is precisely located within a structure which was built as a truck garage in 1931 and converted to the condominiums in 1983. The apartment was plagued with an awkward geometry, limited natural light and an outdated decor.
Interior Design Lofts
To visually organize the space and reveal the basic architectural layout, the existing finishes and fittings are stripped away. With a cleared palette space use and storage are maximized by either carving out or augmenting the irregular shapes presented by the architecture. All wall surfaces, existing and new, are limited to a neutral white finish to create a seamless integration with the ceiling structure which is allowing the space’s inherent sculptural quality to be enhanced.
A natural walnut is used throughout to anchor and reinforce the unity of the space, juxtaposed against the bright architectural envelope in response to the client’s desire for an inviting, warm retreat. Plush, engaging fabrics and contemporary lighting infuse a dash of luxury while classic modern furniture pieces provide functionality and a simple sophistication. A cozy and calm atmosphere created inside this apartment, nice!
