An eye-catching and amazing bar design is completed designed by the LOFF, A Portuguese lighting design and an architecture office. This attractive bar s called Meltino Bar & Lounge and take a location in Braga, Portugal. This bar interior project is intended for an update the concept of a coffee which is embedded in a shopping center. The furniture interior design inside the bar is the result of the coffee derivates, it is in order to allow that the community assimilates the singularity of a place which is serves as a lounge and a bar, which the strong presence of the design element. Although with the different purposes both are similar and transparent. The bar side is appropriated to drink a coffee while the lounge site has a relaxed atmosphere and it is offers a gourmet products.
Claudia Costa whose the architect atelier mentor has conceived this bar project from the geometrization of coffee grains, always with the concern to exclude the idea which is presented in teh space to the final consumer, which they are drinking the coffee in a commercial gallery. The final result of the architet is a coffe grain which is peeks, pierces walls, roofs and counters.
Meltino Bar & Lounge
The architect is asked to draw a charismatic and a unique project for a bar with the identity of the brand Meltino in the first meeting with the client. The architect idea is to create a project which is endured in the visual memories of the public. The first architect intention is to build a Bar inside a mall without a sense of the enclosure in a confined space. Inside the bar, the architect has created and though of how to be inside and have feeling of being outside is always present. The box inside the box, the light, the transparence, the defragmentation of the space, the well-being associated with the simple act of drinking coffee.
Concept
A coffee grain which draws the space, a coffee made of coffee. Which is draws the two volumes/ spaces in the plan, the underlying concept is the geometrization of the coffee grain. The grains conquer the Coffee, perforate and draw the volumes, the walls, the ceiling. Its shadow is cast in the floor, dancing in the space. This project is divided in three areas: two volumes and an interior esplanade which is elevated from the mall floor. These two volumes are identical and translucent. However, they have a distinct uses and furniture. The first volume, it is the lounge space, is comprehends a relax area where it is served the gourmet coffee. In the second volume, which is used as a bar place, the public can take the express coffee. To enjoy the Coffee, the coffee grain is conquers the mall gallery and spies the public space which is inviting the public. On many scales the grains is drawn, then a matrix is built in the form of 3 panels, it is three meters high by 1 meter of an anchor, which is inverted and it is created a total of 6 distinct panels. All the wall interior design where developed based in the study of the 6 panels matrix.
Double walls
It is intend to reinforce the perforation of the grain proportionate a body to the space. This why the walls and the ceilings are duplicated. To give space a more dynamic feeling, the central part of the ceiling is created higher. Which is light and easy to build, the structure is in a pine wood. The covering of the walls, ceiling and the balconies is in MDF, it is painted in white. The floor covering is in linoleum. Because of the association of these with the coffee fruit and the reflection of the light, the colors chosen are the white and the brown.
Furniture
The crockery and the tables are also drawn with detail, aesthetics and comfort attention. The furniture is covered with a unique and new material which is a derivative from the remnants of the coffee. The furniture is fulfills the space and appeals to sensorial feelings.
Lighting Design
The entire project is thought, it is to create a light balance atmosphere. For that, it is used indirect light with diachronic lamps and halogens lamps in the bar. Orange leds are applied in the brand lettering.
