I always love a futuristic and modern building, so in this opportunity I would like to review about a modern building design project which is called the ‘Housing With a Mission’. When you look at the building plan project (inserted in the picture below) you will also impress just like me, and maybe have similar opinion like me that this is a really modern building design. So give it a break!
Located in Beijing, China, this modern building with the theme project of ‘housing with a mission’ is featured at the Hong Kong and Shenzen Bieannale on architecture and the urbanism. It is designed as a co-production by the five Chinese and Five Dutch architectural offices and aims at the building 1000 dwellings for the ‘Ant Tribe ‘in Beijing. This is the Chinese name for the generation of millions of young graduates who live in cramped conditions in the outskirts of cities and work in low-paid jobs.
This Chinese offices would be include the Standard Architecture, Urbanus, O-Office, Node and CAFA, while the Dutch firms would be include aronsgelauff, Next, KCAP, NL architects and Barcode. More images and project description after the break. The architect of this building started the design of the aronsgelauff project from the interior.
Inside this modern building, it is so sophisticated flexible fixtures which can adapt to changing the use of the space. Let me talk about the service area, the bed slides underneath the lounge, the kitchen unfolds to a dining table, the kitchen-bench and wardrobe shelving are all retractable. In the double floor of the tiny balcony the AC device is stowed. Construction starts at the end of next year.
I just got the building plan picture, but based on it, it is enough to explain how sophisticated this building is. Well, at least that’s all that I have got, enjoy reading. Have a nice day guys!
