simple minimalist interior room decorating ideas
Fort a man who spends his days working in industrial design on a vast scale, it must have been an interesting exercise to put his mind to the relatively minor project that would become his office and home.
The project was made possible by finding land on the outskirts of Hanover that would suit the business and his architectural vision of a live/work space.
The steel-and-glass construction can be seen from miles away at night, when the fourth and fifth floor penthouse is lit up. There is a high degree of perfectionism and discipline in this house.
The floors, for instance, are all of the same grey stone tiles, inside and out. There are no visible internal doors, just partitions of glass that slide into the walls. Even the roof-garden is planted in immaculate blocks of gentle colour.
Walls are finished in polished marble stucco work, which gleams and shines in contrast to the Matt grey floors. Furniture includes modern classic from Le Corbusier, Spencer Fung, Earnes and Christian Liaigre. Frank Gehry’s Cardboard chair stands at the foot of the bed.
