Hi guys! In this good time I would like to share about a modern museum design which is located in China. When I see this architecture design of the building, I feel here is something impressive about the architecture design itself, so I would like to share it with you guys. Feel curious yet about this impressive building? Then give it a break!
Yesterday I have gathered information about a modern museum architecture design which called the MoMA CHENGDU museum. This museum which has an attractive architecture design was completed designed by Studio Ramoprimo, Stefano Avesani with Wenjun Li. As I said in the previous, this impressive building is located in China. It’s a large building if you want to know; its total site area is about 18,000 square meters, floor areas is about 75, 000 square meters, on ground 45, 000 square meters and underground are about 30, 000 square meters. This museum was finished constructed in 2008.
This museum is an architect winning proposal for the construction of MoMA based in China. The competition itself is organized by the Chengdu Ministry of Culture and the Chengdu Culture and Tourism Development Group in December 2007. This museum site is precisely located on the north-west of the central Tianfu Square, around which the city government is planning to build a double ring of the public facilities.
The first ring which has created by the architect will be the new cultural center; it is including the cultural and leisure facilities and the museum buildings, while the second and the larger one will be a crown of CBD style skyscrapers. If you know, coincidentally its site corresponds to the southwest corner of the disappeared “Si Chuan Gong Yuan”, ancient city wall from the Qing Dynasty. It’s just an additional information guys, if you dig there, there is a good chance to find some of those old rests, is that great, isn’t?
Now I will talk about the master plan and the design concept of the architect. I think that the concept for the Tianfu Museum of Modern Art which located in Chengdu, China takes the advantage from the existing situation of the surroundings. The basic idea is to enlarge the existing public space of the Tianfu Square and make it “climbing” on the roof of the new building. The new museum is a group of volumes creating a small cultural city. Two main axis cut the site area defining a comfortable pedestrian island where people can walk away from cars.
Between the existing parts of the city, the new urban situation is also establishing new visual and physical connections. The four museum blocks which consist of the restaurant, music auditorium, museums and exhibition, create an arising slope on which the people can walk, seat, play, have a rest, enjoy the view to the central square like in an open public theater. The whole shape according the function is rising step by step from the earth to the sky, while the ending corner of the building replaces the original position of the ancient and forgotten city wall.
Well guys, if you have much time, I suggest you come by there. You will feel the same felling like me. Ok I hope this information is useful enough. Have a nice day!
