Office Building Design in Chile
In my previous review, I used to talk about a modern and futuristic office. But in this opportunity I would like to review about office which produces machinery and the supplies for mining. It is a wow right? Sometimes fresh review is necessary. So give it a break!
Located in Camino Miraflores S/S, Pudahuel, Santiago, Chile, this office is completed built by the Vicente Justiniano Arquitectos Ltda. For this office, the site area is covers for about 156.000 square meters and it was completed in 2010. This office project is called the Revesol Industrial Plant. As it names, revesol is a metalworking industry which is produces the machinery and the supplies for mining.
Based on the observation, the project for the plant is based in a composition of relatively independent volumes. Each volume is developed with the best form and materials in order to meet the specific requirements of its function. The office building is volumetrically connected with both the service building and dining hall, so to shape the facade and image of the project, leaving open spaces with vegetation, which sets distances and generates circulation routes between the volumes. These spaces are defined as places for recreation and primarily as an expansion of the dining hall.
Based on the picture, the entire project perimeter leaves a lane which directs flows and functional relations between the volumes. In the background is the production plant building, a large volume which its interior is arranged with aisles marked by overhead lighting and vegetation, with small gardens in the meeting points, which allows generating a kinder working environment. The rear of the terrain is left as a recreation area and as a possibility for future growth.
This office design is a volume with the contemporary, clean and simple architecture, an open floor with the essential structure and a clear vertical and humid core. The deep overhang of the roof for solar control shelters the north façade. Both pillars and beams, this volume is set with a metallic structure both pillars and beams, with slab decking for the mezzanine and the metallic truss with the plate ceiling for the second floor with the Zincalume cladding. The structure covered with paneling based on galvanized iron and steel structure on the east and west facades and alternating vertical openings and filled shapes in the north and south facades. It has porcelain flooring, aluminum thermo pane windows and plate ceiling.
