School Building Design in Vietnam
Yesterday I usually review about a modern house, office or other impressive building. But now, in this moment, I would like to review something fresh for you. I will review about an impressive school building design which called the Binh Duon School which is based in Vietnam. Are you feeling curious yet? Then give it a break guys!
Recently I have got the information of the modern school building design which is called the Binh Duong School. This school building design is completed designed in Binh Duong City, Vietnam. The school is comprises area for about 5,300 square meters. It is built by the architect Vo Trong Nghia, Shunri Nishizawa, Daisuke Sanuki (Vo Trong Nghia Co., ltd.).
This city where the school building is located, Binh Duong, is a new city which is 30 minutes away from the Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of Vietnam. This city has a typical tropical climate all year round. The site is precisely located in the middle of a flourishing forest with a wide variety of the green and fruits, running rampant. This is where folks spending their time under the shade of trees. To pursuit a beautiful life, people are in harmony with the nature, making the border between the inside and the outside ambiguously. From the very first impression of the site, we tried to embed the building into the site by delivering this Vietnam-oriented generous spirit of natural land into the school design, which will eventually have 800 students.
Based on the information which I have gathered, he school building is located in the 5300 square meters abundant land, it is consisting of a maximum height of five levels with the intention of being surrounded by the height of the forest around. For developed the building, it seems that the architect used the precast concrete louvers and pattern walls. These shading devices generate the semi-outside space, these open circumstances avoiding direct the sunlight as well as acting like a natural ventilation system for the corridor space. All the classrooms are connected by this semi-open space, where teachers and students chatting, communicating and appreciating nature.
I think that the architect designing the school as a continuous volume. It is in order to not to disturb any Scholl activities. And it seems the endless raining of the typical tropical climate, are inspiring the fluidity concept, it is where the raining season last from May to November each year. This continuous volume has a gentle slope surrounding the two courtyards as a geographical hill, lessens the aggressive height between the building and the peaceful site.
Based on the picture, I can see that the school is designed as an S shape which is connected to the ground at one end, curving around two courtyards with the two different characteristics. The front yard is used for public space, serving for formal events such as meetings of the school. Backyard is more private, where students spend their personal time. Teacher rooms; gym, laboratory and library are located around the front yard, while common students’ classrooms are arranged around the back yard. The open space flows throughout the circulation to help teachers and students enjoy various activities of the two courtyards with rich natural surroundings.
Thus, the architect intended this school to be borderless between the school activity and surrounding nature and also not to destroy the current abundant forest as much as possible. In this open school, students enjoy their life learning the generous spirits of nature. This is our alternative proposal for school design in Vietnam.
Well that my review about the modern school building. To be honest, I wish that I am studying in such comfortable school as this building, but I have already graduated 3 years ago. Ok stop joking around, I hope this information is useful for you guys. Have a nice day then!
