Maybe one of you is a great artist who is looking for an inspiration to designing a new and nice studio for your workshop. Well then you come to the right destination because today I would like to review about a modern studio design which located in Korea. If you feel curious yet about the studio design the give it a break!

This studio design which called the Skinspace was completed designed by the AND architects. It was located in Seohoori, Seojongmyun, Yangpyeonggun, Gyeonggido, Korea. There this studio was covers gross area for about 130.60 square meters, while the construction area for about 112.62 square meters. It was a 2010 year project.

There is a close relationship between an artist and their painting. When an artist walks into the office, they are introducing himself with a pamphlet of his paintings. The vivid colors and forced brush strokes that densely filled the screens, it shows his sensibility and thoughts. They use of unfamiliar words to describe hisa works that he is “interested in ecological theology”, illustrates the naive mind of the artist which he paints from himself, or he paints himself through the painting. Perhaps, that is why his recent works include a body of a person in a landscape.

About this studio environment, to the north of the site is a 4 meters high sloped hill, and the site is open towards all the three sides. First, a long façade stands on the south of the site and overlooks a stream. The skin of the façade is gently rolled inward as it breaks up the boundary between the interior and the exterior. The rolled in surfaces lift up as they enter the interior and they traverse the interior toward the opposite side of the wall.

Of this studio, the panels of the skin are split and distorted; it is creating the loose crevices during the crossing. The landscape permeates through the crevice, and so does light. The light colors the space with every moment in time. The space of the crevice changes sensitively as a body moves. Skin becomes space, and space becomes skin. The boundary is blurred, and the flow that passes through the interior and the exterior becomes denser.

Well guys, this is truly a beautiful studio which has a panoramic views around it. It can give the artist inspiration for his artwork. Ok guys I think it’s up, have a nice day!
