The active product in Shanghai designer Danny Kuo has an incredibly simple but extraordinary concept and design, how the books in the height can reach without a head. The product is called “Staircase” and is in its subtile, simple kind of trendy again. This bookshelf ideal for office or nursery.
Unfortunately I could not find distributors. The system looks as it could be cost-effectively produce and also sell well. Therefore, it is soon to be available somewhere.

ran into you concept looking for shelves that go on stairs (as opposed to shelves that are stairs). In any event this is very cool and i want one. I really like when shelves reach the ceiling and thing a line of three of these in a row would be really amazing.
