An impressive apartment building design which called the Baufeld 10 is done designed by the LOVE Architecture and Urbanism. This building is located in Hamburg, Germany. A new district which is covering for about 157 hectares is being developed directly with the HafenCity Hamburg. During the development, the architect is being faced by a challenge: The Baufeld 10 project is developed in a joint building venture. This means which the various future residents is worked together to create a real community for the new building. Within this model, the individualist is connected with each other with the goal of the building THEIR communal house. The building typology has to meet this expectation, this is why the building is houses many different building typologies with all kinds of the furnishing standards: from very large apartments (up to approx. 225m²) to smaller units (approx. 50m²), which the feature is entirely different designs – from one-storey apartments to maisonettes which stretch across the four stores. The individualization is the top priority for Baufeld 10. Within his or her apartment, each of the 28 new residents can now enjoy the unique style, whether horizontal or vertical, whether in a small or a big apartment. These different visions are blended into one building; it is for everyone’s satisfaction. The residential building is presents a gleaming white structure which is formed of the slightly beveled cubes and with generously proportioned, slightly beveled window openings; it is by viewed from the outside. The configuration of these window openings matches the layout of the apartments behind them. Each apartment has a balcony and/or bay which protrude from the building. Within the rigid row of buildings, this configuration provides maximum views in an “exciting direction” – namely, the harbor.
Structural design and facade
