The Good Residence Modern Washtufle Inetrior Design

A beautiful residence which called the Good Residence is completed designed by the architect Crone Partners. This residence is designed in Melbourne, Australia. The architects worked closely with their client, embracing the challenge of a relatively tight inner suburban location and restrictive building envelope. It is achieved to rationalize their “wish list” into a concise and deliverable brief. A little thing was lost in this process and even less in the translation to a finished living space for the builder/client and their young family.

Modern Contemporary Living Space Concept

This modern contemporary living space which has a finely detailed bold rectilinear form is set back from the street amidst a carpet of the natural ground cover. The entrance of the living space is made via a subtle path which is formed from the old railway sleepers and it is embedded into the ground. The view from the street immediatellty confirms that this living space is quite different to the dwelling which is surrounding it, while sitting comfortably in its street context proportionally and with the setbacks is respectful of its neighboring properties. The living space project architecture design is realized through a series of the simple intersecting and the overlapping rectangular shapes. A distinct portion of the overall program is represented by each “box”. In this house, a sleeping/study zone, a living zone, a garage/workshop and a cantilevered above all of this, a parent retreat, are completed with its own living area and the secluded outdoor terrace.

The modern contemporary shapes of the building architecture design have been carefully articulated as both screening devices for provides privacy and the elements which frame and defines the views. A way to a warm and welcoming interior given by the robust external cladding which changes appearance significantly in the different weather and lighting conditions. It is filled by a natural light, high ceilings, double height voids and sensuous materials. The light which is fulfilling the room is drawn by the extensive use and clever placement of the performance double glazing. The line between the interior and exterior is blurred and with banks of the operable louvers and a huge sliding glass panels which is presenting the family with the ability to engage directly with the outside environment or to close the place down completely, dependant on the variable region climate.

This living space architecture design is presents as a blank canvas onto which the family inserts the detail of their ever changing lives. This achievement is provides for growth and change with the spaces which can be opened up and connected, or to be closed down for more restricted and intimate use. To serve the architect clients specific needs for an interactive informal modern contemporary space which caters for the variance of their daily lives, the main living zone has been created. It flows effortlessly from one functional area to another and it is can be opened up to embrace the adjoining outdoors spaces, in particular the northerly orientated back yard and lap pool.
