Have you ever imagined a home which located in the desert, moreover this residence is first used as a private museum for art gallery, and then second just for a personal winter residence? Then how it is comes? Here I have an issue which will inspire you in designing the home.
Firstly, personally I have surprised by the function of the house which is designed by Jones Studio. It’s a rather interesting ideas, this house first just used for a private museum by the owner, and then for personal winter residence. This house which called the Logan Residence is designed in Scottsdale, Arizona.
As it first is a private museum, this house keeps the owner’s art. This art is one of the top contemporary collections in the world. In my opinion, I think the architect goal is to make the architecture an equally significant addition. The architect mutually decided the program would be about multiple galleries, each with a different day lighting technique after several studies.
Now I will review about the home interior. The passage below the metallic “golden aspen leaves” provides the transitional entry shade and it is recalls the couple’s Vail, Colorado summer residence. The guest enters the Gallery One upon passing through the front door.
As far as I know, the Sonoran Desert is famous for its clear white light; but however, it must be diffused to avoid damaging the art. Six foot deep, parabolic white plaster shafts bounce and reflect light, evenly distributing it throughout the space. They begin as a circular oculus and warp to a square, integrating an adjustable electric lighting grid, which doubles as the mounting point for suspended art hanging walls, subject to relocation as needed.
Gallery Two is easily perceived from its exterior as a glowing cube. Gallery Three – the “black box” – has only a hint of natural light, integrated into and through the iris of the sandblasted eye pattern on the exterior cast in place concrete walls, and the Gallery Four’s specific shape accommodates the famous 30 foot long Murakami painting; “Supernova” is naturally lit from a parallel clerestory above which gathers north light to reflect off of the opposite white bulkhead.
It’s really an impressive idea; I think the art collection can be the decoration stuff inside the home, nice!
