The Sugar Bowl Residence Bathtub Interior Design
A snow full residence which is called the Sugar Bowl Residence is completed designed by the architect John Maniscalco Architecture. This residence is based in Norden, California. This residence is precisely built in the old village at Sugar Bowl and this construction is entirely a product of its dramatic environment. The site conditions is dictate the design with a snow pack of as much as 8-9 feet, a massive snow loads and a dangerous shear snow blocks which is dropping from the typical roofs.
To form an elegant solution, the constraints are used for this new house for it. The living space is uses a simple, bent planar roof shape, it is to gather the rooftop snow pack and the shed it to the rear of the structure, away from the entry and pedestrian traffic, taking the historical railroad avalanche shed as a precedent. The residence is allows the snow to rise around it and meet the entry level, it is because it is perched on a concrete plinth which is lifts it above the tall winter snow-pack. A solid, cedar-clad volume houses entry, boot room, children’s and the guest bedrooms and the service spaces is occupied in the first floor. The views of the horizontal snow drifts and vertical stands of the pine trees is exaggerated by the exaggerated and abstract geometry of the fenestration at this level frames.
A two story glazed wall at the main stair is provides a singular vertical perspective on the stands of the surrounding pines and it is provides a moment of the transition from the heavier base element to the light-filled airy spaces above in an otherwise horizontally oriented house. A variety of the living spaces and the master bedroom suite is placed in the upper level. Each enjoying the mountains views. It is gathered between the linear roof form and the simple block below. The interior design palette of walnut, fir, concrete and steel which is strikes a balance clean, modern spatial expression with the warm, rustic feel of a mountain home.
