This great urban development is under way for the establishment of a new urban center which is located in the area of Petaling Jaya, West of Kuala Lumpur. The building developer wanted to host his on-site offices and sale’s showroom in an iconic pavilion which would reflect the spirit and the architectural style of the whole development as a landmark for this area.
Which is creating a dynamic spherical form, the water droplets in nature is the inspiration for ‘The Pod’ pavilion structure; it is resulting in a primitive building archetype with a modern twist. In this architecture design, the round and soft shape of The Pod is formed as a series of the elliptical sections of the variable widths and heights. Into the space below, the slithers of the windows is brings the natural daylight.
Urban Architecture Design Review
Internally this pavilion building is divided into two parts: one zone is dedicated to the office area and the other contains the main showroom. Which wrap up and over the building is creating a dynamic space within, the building appears to be sliced diagonally into a series of ribbons, and it is forming a layered protective shell.
With the exterior skin made of spectrally reflective aluminum panels, the building structure is fabricated from the tubular steel members. Depending on the reflection of the sun, dynamically, the exterior skin color shades changes.
