This great project which called Warborn Apartment is focused on a duplex apartment on the top of a sea-facing building. The need to re-adjust the layout and the flow to purpose is the two starting point, and the wish is to promote the relationship with the surrounding landscape. Therefore, the project itself became a process of re-design and customization. The spans and the porches are re-defined to focus on, and the emphasize the scenic quality of the landscape as well as the transition between the exterior and interior areas. The existing circular staircase of the apartment is re-designed, which is highlighting its form and arresting its sense of the movement.
To show the way, the walls and the ceiling of the apartment is melt into one or bend. The vertical lighting stripes is signaled the entrance to a room. The essential aspect is revealed within the kitchen and the living space which is co-habit. The superfluous of them are concealed. The various space of the apartment is defined by the wood, white and ‘viroc’ materials. On the surrounding landscape, the black glass details provide the highlight and its take the alternative place when it reflected. The sea and the horizon become omnipresent throughout, either framed by a window or captured in a fleeting reflection.
